- 1. Do I need a permit for my driveway in Brevard County? Depending on the municipality, your concrete driveway may or may not require a permit. If work is being performed in the right of way, a permit is required and may also require a culvert pipe.
We will inform you whether a permit, culvert pipe, or both are required based on where you live. Superior Concrete of Brevard, Inc. can provide the necessary permits and culvert pipe, install the culvert, and coordinate inspections.
- 2. How thick should my concrete driveway be? The appropriate thickness depends on what your driveway will carry. We design your driveway around how you intend to use it rather than pouring a standard driveway for every application.
A driveway for standard recreational vehicles is built differently than one regularly used or parked on by a boat, RV, or heavy truck.
We evaluate your intended use and recommend the proper concrete thickness and reinforcement in writing before any work begins.
- 3. Do you subcontract any of the work? No. We handle the entire driveway project with our own team, including demolition, hauling away old materials, culvert delivery and installation, site preparation, concrete pouring and finishing, cleanup, and right-of-way restoration.

- 4. Can you expand or add on to my existing driveway? Yes. Whether you need more width, additional parking, or space for a boat or RV, we can add a properly planned concrete extension to your existing driveway.
We take your lot, drainage, and intended use into consideration and use rebar drilled and doweled into the existing concrete to properly tie the new concrete addition to the existing slab.
- 5. Why did my previous concrete driveway fail? One of the main causes we see of driveways cracking and settling is improper water diversion, which can lead to erosion. Other contributing factors can include a lack of control joints, improper compaction, or inadequate reinforcement.
